Job Requirement
Develop detailed design documents for instrumentation and control systems. This includes the creation of instrument datasheets, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and installation details in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
Ensure all instrument designs adhere to relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices to ensure safe operation and compliance with regulatory bodies.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team including process, mechanical, electrical, and safety engineers to integrate instrumentation seamlessly into the overall design of the facility.
Provide technical support during instrument installation, commissioning, and startup phases. This may involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to instrument performance and functionality.
Participate in the selection of instrumentation and control equipment, ensuring compatibility with the overall system design and operational requirements. This involves evaluating vendor proposals and ensuring that selected instruments meet project specifications and budget constraints.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation including design calculations, selection rationale, vendor correspondences, and revision histories to ensure traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Relevant experience in instrument design within the oil and gas industry, showcasing a strong understanding of operational environments, processes, and safety considerations.
Proficiency in design and simulation software specific to instrumentation and control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with international engineering standards and codes relevant to the oil and gas industry, such as ISA, IEC, and API standards.
